BlackHoles
 shows that some there actually want to create black holes using the LHC which would serve as "a black hole factory". Concerns about safety are dismissed in one line using the dubious cosmic ray comparison.
  It seems that one of the purposes of The Collider is to verify the existence of Hawking Radiation which should cause small black holes to fizzle out before they can do any damage. If Hawking Radiation does exist then well and good but if not we will be in deep trouble.
